New York, July 18, AZERTACIn Azerbaijan, under the legislation, master plans are publicly discussed at the local level before approval, ensuring community participation in the planning process, said Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, during the first multi-stakeholder panel held as part of the High-Level Meeting on the Midterm Review of the implementation of the New Urban Agenda of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York, the United States.“In parallel, grant support for the urban development initiatives led by civil society helps transform participation into practical actions and strengthens partnerships for inclusive cities,” he noted.“So, the message from the SDG 11 review, WUF13 and this midterm review of the New Urban Agenda is aligned: housing must be integrated, delivery must be inclusive, and recovery must be planned for the long term from the very beginning,” Guliyev added.
