As part of his official visit to Ukraine, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, was received by the country’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The meeting focused on the current state and development of Azerbaijan-Ukraine strategic partnership, political dialogue, cooperation in energy, transport and humanitarian affairs, as well as regional and international matters of mutual concern.
The officials stressed the importance of further advancing the bilateral strategic partnership, noting that Azerbaijan and Ukraine will mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027. They noted that high-level political dialogue and reciprocal visits have contributed significantly to the development of bilateral cooperation.
The Ukrainian head of state underscored the importance of his visit to Azerbaijan in April, as well as the agreements reached during that visit in bringing bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level.
The meeting also addressed regional security, developments in Ukraine, as well as current issues on the global agenda.
Minister Bayramov reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.
President Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the Government of Azerbaijan for humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to further enhance bilateral ties across various domains.
