Economic cooperation constitutes an important dimension of Azerbaijan–Ukraine relations, said Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a press conference held with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha.
"Speaking about energy cooperation, I would like to note that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been presented in the Ukrainian market for decades. SOCAR continues to operate actively in Ukraine even now, and we are confident that it has great plans for the future,” the Azerbaijani FM added.
According to him, in terms of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, and also among the delegations and the colleagues, there was a very dynamic and active dialogue about new dynamic, additional elements of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.
FM Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan today is supplying gas to 16 countries of the world, out of which 12 European countries, and out of these 12 European countries 10 are EU member states.
"From this perspective, we also would be happy to provide gas also to friendly Ukraine, in case of necessity. And at the same time, I mean, there is also a possibility for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in terms of energy security of even a wider geography,” Jeyhun Bayramov stated.
