UN-Habitat Executive Director: We want to learn about what's happening in terms of urban transformation in Azerbaijan

Washington, July 16, AZERTAC
After the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), we have established a long-standing collaboration with Azerbaijan, Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), told AZERTAC.
“The frame of our collaboration is the exchange of experiences and expertise, as well as building on this very successful World Urban Forum, making sure that projects implemented in Azerbaijan also benefit from the international knowledge, expertise and know-how. We also want to learn about what's happening in terms of urban transformation in Azerbaijan. So, it's a two-way collaboration where we implement and learn at the same time and share,” the UN-Habitat Executive Director said.
“Hosting both the COP29 and the WUF13 provided a foundation of a larger collaboration. So, we discuss how we can collect more practices from around the world and bring to our intergovernmental process. For instance, Azerbaijan is co-chairing the Open-ended Working Group on Housing, which is a critical process that will deliver key policy recommendations, but also bring practices together as a public good for member states, for countries and cities to address the global housing crisis,” Anacláudia Rossbach emphasized.
