


Slovak President visits Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis

On July 15, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Peter Pellegrini, President of Slovakia.
Highlighting the existing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova noted that these ties have been steadily developing over recent years, thus being elevated to the level of strategic partnership.
The officials underscored the importance of the activity of interparliamentary friendship groups operating in both countries’ parliaments, enhancing cooperation between the relevant parliamentary committees and collaboration within interparliamentary organizations.
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini praised the high-level friendly relations and political dialogue between the two countries, while also expressing his country’s interest in fostering cooperation with Azerbaijan across various areas.
The Slovak President expressed his confidence that the meeting and discussions held in Shusha and the agreements reached there would contribute significantly to future development of bilateral ties.
Touching upon Azerbaijan’s restoration efforts in its liberated territories, the Slovak President described the involvement of Slovak companies in this process as a bright example of successful bilateral cooperation.
The meeting also addressed other issues of mutual concern.
