Yuriy Bivol: We were impressed by the warm welcome from the Azerbaijani audience and the beauty of Baku

Chisinau, August 19, AZERTAC

Azerbaijan’s city of Gabala recently hosted a major cultural event that brought together artists from numerous countries over several days. Among the participants were representatives of Moldova’s Fluieraș Folk Song and Dance Ensemble.
Yuriy Bivol, chief choreographer of the Moldovan ensemble, shared his impressions of the large-scale international music festival with Moldova’s prominent news portal Noi.md.
He noted that the Gabala International Music Festival, founded in 2009 and organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, is dedicated to classical music and culture. Each summer, it brings together renowned artists, symphony orchestras, and international ensembles in Gabala’s picturesque setting. The 15th edition of the festival featured Azerbaijani artists and guests from Austria, the Netherlands, Russia, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Germany, and Moldova.
“It was a great joy and honor to perform for such a warm Azerbaijani audience. They were initially reserved, but by the end, they were applauding enthusiastically and even joining our dancers in front of the stage. It was an incredible exchange of energy!” Yuriy Bivol said.
Hailing the festival’s atmosphere and picturesque setting, Yuriy Bivol emphasized: “We had the opportunity to stay an extra day and explore Baku, a magnificent city with stunning views and remarkable architecture. We were deeply impressed by what we saw and the warm hospitality we received. As artists, promoting Moldovan traditions beyond our borders is very important to us. After returning home, we were invited to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Chisinau, where Ambassador Ulvi Bakhshaliyev congratulated us on our dedication.”
