Journalist Ewald König: President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Germany opened a new chapter in relations between two countries
Berlin, July 24, AZERTAC
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Germany opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries, Ewald König, the prominent journalist based in Berlin, told AZERTAC.
According to him, the signing of the Joint Declaration carries not only a symbolic gesture but also creates a solid foundation for broader cooperation.
“Germany needs to diversify its energy imports and needs Azerbaijan as an energy supplier. In this context, Germany has seen in practice that Azerbaijan is a reliable partner,” Ewald König added.
“The South Caucasus is evolving into a region of stability. Such a security strategy holds a solid place in Germany’s interests. The Azerbaijani President’s high-level reception in Berlin, along with the signing of the Joint Declaration, reflected due recognition of this approach,” the journalist underlined.
