Huseyn Rahimli, Azerbaijani Ambassador to South Africa, met with Fateh Boutbig, President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP).
Ambassador Huseyn Rahimli congratulated Fateh Boutbig on his appointment as the PAP President, wishing him success in his future endeavors, including enhancing relations between PAP and Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis.
The Azerbaijani diplomat emphasized that Milli Majlis places particular emphasis on fostering its relations with the parliaments of the African countries both bilaterally and within international platforms, stressing great potential in this regard.
Fateh Boutbig noted that fostering PAP’s collaboration with Milli Majlis, as well as with the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network (NAM PN) would contribute to advancing the major goals of parliamentary diplomacy, namely dialogue, solidarity, and collective action.
Subsequently, Ambassador Rahimli briefed the PAP President on the democratic, legal, and economic reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, the ongoing large-scale restoration efforts carried out in the liberated territories under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, following Azerbaijan’s landmark victory in the Patriotic War, as well as the existing landmine threat in those areas.
