Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan discuss TITR development, non-resource exports expansion

Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have discussed the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, expansion of non-resource exports and industrial collaboration, Qazinform News Agency reported.
This was stated by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry following the talks between Minister Yermek Kosherbayev and Alimirzamin Asgarov, the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan, held on August 21 in Astana.
Minister Kosherbayev congratulated Ambassador Asgarov on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. The two sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, according to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
It was emphasized that regular contacts and trust based dialogue between the two countries’ presidents form a solid foundation for advancing Kazakh Azerbaijani relations. Minister Kosherbayev also briefed the Ambassador on Kazakhstan’s ongoing political and socio economic reforms, noting that the upcoming Qurultay elections on August 23 will mark an important step in implementing the new constitutional model.
Special attention was given to trade and economic cooperation. The parties highlighted strong momentum in bilateral trade and the potential to expand non resource exports, industrial collaboration, and mutual investments. They also underscored the importance of enhancing transit and transport cooperation, with Kazakhstan viewing Azerbaijan as a key partner in developing the Trans Caspian International Transport Route.
The meeting also covered cooperation within international organizations, including the UN, OTS, CICA, and OIC.
At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed his readiness to contribute to the further advancement of bilateral relations in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.
Earlier, it was reported that Azerbaijan plans to raise the number of countries eligible for visa-free entry to 34 to stimulate inbound tourism.
