Baku, August 20, AZERTAC
Chinese tech company Unitree Robotics unveiled its latest humanoid robot prototype, dubbed "Superman" on Aug 17, with the robot demonstrating jumping and running capabilities that surpass human world records in two performance metrics, according to China Daily.
The robot has legs measuring 0.85 meters in length and can jump vertically as high as 2 meters from a standing position. Its top running speed reaches 12.66 meters per second, according to the company. Both numbers exceed the current human world records.
Unitree said the prototype was developed and unveiled in just over three months. It is still undergoing iterative development, with further optimization and upgrades planned.
The company said continued improvements will help accumulate experience and advance research into high-dynamic movement technologies for humanoid robots.
