BEU and China's leading university's jointly established faculty of engineering admits its first students
Baku, August 5, AZERTAC
Starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering, jointly established by Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), one of China's prestigious higher education institutions, is admitting its first students. This important event is considered the beginning of a new stage in the development of international engineering education in Azerbaijan.
The BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering offers a modern educational model that combines world-class engineering training, innovative teaching approaches, and global academic cooperation. The faculty's main goal is to train highly qualified engineers capable of meeting the demands of the rapidly changing technology world and achieving success in an internationally competitive environment.
Admission for the 2026-2027 academic year is being carried out in the following specialties:
- Computer Science
- Chemistry
- Biotechnology
- Mechanical Engineering
The most important advantage of the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering is that it is not simply a dual - degree program, but the first international academic faculty jointly established by BEU and BUCT. The educational process is organized based on the shared academic management principles and international quality standards of both universities, offering students a modern, internationally recognized educational environment.
Within the 3+1 educational model applied at the faculty, students complete the first 3 years of their studies at BEU and the final year at BUCT. During this period, they gain the opportunity to study in an international academic environment, work in advanced laboratories, join research projects, and gain global industrial experience. Scholarship opportunities for studying at BUCT are also available for students demonstrating high academic performance. Graduates who successfully complete the curriculum will be awarded diplomas from both universities.
Modern curricula developed in line with artificial intelligence, digital transformation, green technologies, and new industrial challenges, along with innovative laboratories, research activities, and international academic exchange opportunities, equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for the professions of the future and gain a competitive advantage in the global labor market.
Applicants who took part in the 2026 bachelor's-level admission examinations may become among the first students of this unique educational model - which offers world-class engineering education, international academic experience, and global career opportunities - by selecting the relevant specialties of the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering during the specialty selection (coding) stage.
