"As part of the Vietnam Days celebrations in Baku, Baku State University (BSU) hosted a meeting that brought together a high-level Vietnamese delegation with the university's faculty and students," BSU Rector Elchin Babayev told journalists during the "Vietnam – The Melody of Identity" musical and cultural program held at the university.
Babayev said more than 400 Vietnamese graduates of BSU are among the thousands of Vietnamese alumni educated in Azerbaijan. He noted that many of the university's Vietnamese graduates have gone on to hold senior positions in their country, including deputy prime minister, deputy speakers of the National Assembly, university rectors, and other senior public officials, adding that BSU is proud of their achievements.
The rector said the strong foundation of Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, together with the recent reciprocal visits by the two countries' leaders, has created fresh momentum for bilateral cooperation, particularly in science, education and research. He stressed that universities and cultural exchanges are key pillars of closer bilateral ties.
Babayev also highlighted the growing role of higher education institutions in strengthening Azerbaijan-Vietnam relations, adding that cultural exchanges help deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.
