As part of their visit to Azerbaijan, Sureyya Karimova, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs of the Abu Reyhan Biruni Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, and Associate Professor Salimkhon Eshonova, Head of the Department of Classical Literature at the institute, visited the historic city of Ganja.
The guests toured the Nizami Ganjavi Mausoleum, the Nizami Ganjavi Museum, the Nizami Ganjavi Center of the Ganja Branch of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the Alisher Navoi Center for Uzbek Language and Culture, and the "Imamzadeh" religious and architectural complex.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Alimukhtar Mukhtarov, Ganja Branch's Deputy Chair for Research, informed the guests about ongoing initiatives to study, preserve, and promote the life and international legacy of the outstanding poet Nizami Ganjavi.
The Uzbek scientists expressed their gratitude for the warm hospitality, hailing the successful development of scientific and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The meeting participants discussed the comparative study of the heritage of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi, the development of joint scientific projects, the organization of international conferences, scholar exchange programs, as well as prospects for cooperation.
They noted that the visit would significantly contribute to further strengthening the scientific, literary, and cultural bonds between the two countries.
