


OTS Religious Affairs Chiefs adopt communiqué at their first meeting in Shusha

An 11-point communiqué on the outcomes of the First Meeting of the Heads of State Bodies Responsible for Religious Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was adopted in Shusha on June 30.
AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that the document outlines cooperation between the participating institutions and their future joint activities.
Additionally, the communiqué highlights the importance of supporting the restoration of Azerbaijan's historical, religious, and cultural heritage in its liberated territories, promoting interfaith understanding and Islamic solidarity across the Turkic region, as well as advancing Turkic-Islamic cultural heritage internationally and enhancing joint efforts to combat religious radicalism, extremism, terrorism, Islamophobia, and other destructive manifestations.
The OTS religious affairs chiefs also agreed to hold their second meeting in Kazakhstan in 2027.
