‘Sri Lanka ready to share its experience with Azerbaijan in protection of cultural heritage’

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Adil Karimli met on Friday with Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs of Sri Lanka Vidura Wickramanayake.
Minister Adil Karimli highlighted Azerbaijan’s contributions to the intercultural dialogue, stressing the importance of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue held this year.
The Azerbaijani Culture Minister pointed out that Azerbaijan will host another prestigious event this year- the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). He described it as an appreciation by the international community of Azerbaijan’s meticulous attitude towards the issues of environment and climate change.
Minister Vidura Wickramanayake expressed his gratitude to Minister Karimli for great organization of the forum and hospitality.
The discussions also revolved around cooperation in protection of the cultural heritage. Touching upon Sri Lanka’s rich traditions in terms of protection of the cultural heritage, Minister Wickramanayake expressed his countries willingness to share its experience with Azerbaijan in the relevant sphere.
He also invited Minister Karimli to embark on an official visit to Sri Lanka.
