Azerbaijan represented at annual summit of Pacific Asia Travel Association

An Azerbaijani delegation attended the annual summit of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) held in Macau, China.
Addressing the panel discussion entitled "Dialogue of leaders: Future-proofing travel and tourism policies", Florian Sengstschmid, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), highlighted the steps taken to develop sustainable tourism in Azerbaijan. He also informed about the successful public projects related to the development of community-based tourism, such as Basgal, as well as the inclusion of the “Cultural Landscape of Khinalig and Transhumance Route” on the UNESCO's World Heritage List.
As part of the trip, Head of tourism policy and strategy department at the State Tourism Agency Mahammad Muradov joined the panel discussions of government representatives on the adaptation of tourism education to business needs and the promotion of opportunities for collaboration between universities and business in the PATA region.
