Azerbaijani movie “Steppe Man” to be presented at international film forum in Moscow

Baku, September 8 (AzerTAc). The Steppe Man (Cholchu), a movie by Azerbaijani filmmaker Shamil Aliyev, will be presented at an International film forum to take place in Moscow, Russia, from September 21-25.
The film “Steppe Man” was produced by Azerbaijanfilm at the order of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan. Its script was written by Vidadi Hasanov. Director of Photography is Rafig Guliyev, art directors - Rafiq Nasirov and Ibrahimkhalil Aminov, music by Rauf Aliyev, producers - Mushvig Hatamov and Azer Guliyev. Bahruz Vagifoglu (young steppe man), Vidadi Hasanov (elderly steppe-man), Javidan Mammadli (little steppe-man), and Salome Demoria, Vusal Mehraliyev and others were starring for the film.
The film is about a young steppe man who lives in remoteness from the city, closely tied to nature. His father (Ulu) teaches him the subtleties of life in the steppe. Soon after his father’s death the young man meets a girl from a city. Their meeting becomes a new page in his life, a step to a big life unfamiliar to him before.
“The Steppe Man” has already attended over 17 international film festivals and forums and received a number of awards.
The movie was presented at the 21st Open Film Festival of CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, Kinoshock 2012 (Anapa, Russia), at the 8th Eurasia International Film Festival (Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2012), was awarded a diploma at the 5th International Film Festival Didor (Dushanbe, 2012); it was among the bidding entries at the 16th International Festival in Tallinn, Dark Nights (2012), was presented at the 35th Cairo International Film Festival (2012), the 13th Tbilisi International Film Festival (2012), 24th Ankara International Film Festival (2013), and the International Film Forum "Golden Knight 2013" in Khabarovsk, Russia.
