Cairo hosts classical music concert marking 100th anniversary of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev

A classical music concert marking the 100th anniversary of National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, has been held at the Cairo Opera House in Egypt.
The concert, co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Egypt, the Ministry of Culture of Egypt and the Cairo Opera House, was attended by representatives of Egyptian government, as well as well-known artists.
Speaking to a ceremony prior to the concert, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Egypt Elkhan Polukhov highlighted the unparalleled services of Heydar Aliyev, the genius politician, the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, and his contributions to the development of relations with the Middle East, including the Arab countries.
The diplomat noted that the National Leader paid special attention to the strengthening of cooperation with Egypt.
Then, the Cairo Symphony Orchestra and Cappella Choir under the artistic direction of famous Egyptian conductor and music director Ahmed El-Saedi, featured works of famous Azerbaijani composers such as "Azerbaijan Capriccio" and "Concerto on Arabian Themes for Piano and Orchestra" by Fikrat Amirov, as well as Gara Garayev's "Adagio" and "Seven Beauties" ballets, Soltan Hajibayov's "Caravan", Niyazi's "Concert Waltz", and Tofig Bakikhanov's "Good and Evil".
The conductor of the concert was People's Artist of Azerbaijan Yalchin Adigozalov with People's Artist of Azerbaijan Yegane Akhundova performing as a piano soloist.
