Baku, November 16, AZERTAC An event dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the establishment of one of the military units was held on November 16, Ministry of Defense told AZERTAC.The event was attended by representatives of the Defense Ministry and the public, martyrs’ families, ghazis, military unit’s personnel and other guests.First, the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan accompanied by the military orchestra was performed.At the ceremony, congratulations of the Defense Ministry’s leadership were conveyed to the military personnel.The speakers at the event spoke about the military unit’s establishment history and combat path, including participation in the Patriotic War and subsequent operations. It was noted that the military unit worthily coped with the assigned combat tasks.It was emphasized that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s army development policy is being successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Due to the attention and care of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the military personnel’s combat readiness and social and living conditions are constantly maintained at a high level.At the end of the event, a group of servicemen, who distinguished themselves in military service and are well-disciplined, was awarded and a literary-artistic composition was presented to the event participants by schoolchildren.Patriotic songs were performed in the artistic part of the event.
