Baku, July 20, AZERTAC The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Vietnam has organized the “Vietnam Day: the history of friendship" festival held for the first time in Baku on July 18, 2023 at the one of the most popular Shopping Centers “Sharg Bazari”. Vietnamese "Flamingo" Touristic holding and Vietnam Chef Federation participated as special guests of the event designed to inform more Azerbaijani citizens about friendly Vietnam, its culture, cuisine, tourism and traditions. This festival was held during the days when 64 years ago President Ho Chi Minh visited Baku. Next year the two countries will mark the anniversary of establishment of friendly relations. At the beginning the guests of the event were invited to watch short videos based on archive records of visits of the National Leader of Azerbaijani people and big friend of Vietnam Heydar Aliyev to Vietnam as ahead of the Soviet Union delegation to support Vietnam in strengthening its independence and economic development. This year we will also commemorate the 40th anniversary of that historic visit. Then, the President of Vietnam Chef Federation Mr.Nguyen Xuan Quynh, vice-president of the "Flamingo" company Mrs. Nguyen Van Anh, private entrepreneur Mr. Le Trung Kiyen addressed the event participants, informing them about Vietnam and inviting them to visit this beautiful country. The visit of Vietnamese companies also will give birth to joint projects in tourism and culinary to boost tourist visits in both directions. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of Vietnamese national gifts, souvenirs, clothes (hats, Au Zay women's clothing, coffee and tea drinks). After the event, well-known international Chef “DonDavid” served the guests and customers with the most famous dishes of Vietnamese cuisine (Pho Bo soup, Spring rolls, chicken grill, fried rice). Along with food, the most popular Vietnamese song has been performed by a young singer from HCM Sevinj Farajeva. More than 200 guests visited the event, which was also broadcasted by leading TV programmes. Guests from Vietnam were also invited to popular TV programmes to tell more about the country and our friendship. The Embassy also express gratitude to the Turkish Airlines, Vietnam College of Tourism and Commerce, Merchant Hotel, Shirvanshah Hotel, "Don David" barbecue school, and "Saiomi Du" company for support and advices in organization of the festival.
