The city of Zangilan is located in the city administrative area of the same name.
The city was occupied by Armenian armed forces. During the occupation, Armenian vandals destroyed the village and turned it into ruins.
The valiant Azerbaijani Army, which crushed the Armenian armed forces in the Patriotic War, liberated the city from occupation on October 20, 2020.
