Azerbaijani Embassy in Qatar pays tribute to Patriotic War martyrs

Azerbaijani Embassy in Qatar has organized a commemorative event on the occasion of 27 September - Remembrance Day.
Members of Azerbaijani community in Qatar, as well as local media representatives joined the event.
The event kicked off with the observation of the minute of silence to honor the memory of Azerbaijani martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
Speaking at the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Qatar Rashad Ismayilov highlighted Azerbaijan's glorious page of victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, written by Azerbaijani martyrs and veterans.
The diplomat noted that on September 27, 2020, Azerbaijani Army, led by the Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, launched a counter-offensive operation to prevent yet another military aggression of Armenia and to liberate Azerbaijani territories from nearly a 30-year old occupation. He said that as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War, Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, Gubadli, Aghdam, Kalbajar and Lachin districts, as well the city of Shusha have been liberated from the occupation.
The event also featured a video highlighting the Patriotic War, and an ehsan dinner arranged in memory of Azerbaijani martyrs.
