Opera “Norma” sees Azerbaijan premiere

Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini`s opera “Norma” will be staged in Baku at the scene of the Baku Music Academy after U. Hajibeyli on February 8.
Director of the opera is People`s Artist of Azerbaijan, professor Fakhraddin Kerimov.
Honored artists Farida Mammadova, Sabina Asadova, Anton Fershtano, soloists Adil Akhundov, Hidayat Aliyev and Islam Abdullayeva will perform the title roles.
The opera “Norma” is the lyrical tragedy in two acts. The events take place in Gallia, conquered by the Romans.
The opera “Norma” was first performed on December 26, 1831 at the opera house La Scala in Milan and was conducted by the Italian conductor Alessandro Rolla.
