Baku, May 29 (AzerTAc). The 6th International Conference on the “Seismology, earthquake engineering and Antelope Users Group meeting” has commenced at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) in Baku. The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, ANAS Department of Earth Sciences and the Antelope User Group (AUG). The event is attended scientists and seismologists from 20 countries, as well as senior officials and employees at ANAS, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and media representatives. Speaking to the event, ANAS President Akif Alizade highlighted the importance of seismology as a science. The two-day event will hear reports on the topics “Seismology and active tectonics”, “Seismic networks: data processing, and analysis”, “Seismic hazard, risk and mitigation” and “Structural and earthquake engineering”.
