Austrian newspaper highlights Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis
Baku, April 2 (AzerTAc). Austrian Manchmal News online newspaper has issued an article about March 31 - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
Written by Samir Imanov, head of the Azerbaijan Society in the United Arab Emirates, the article says the events of 1918 were the mass killing of Azerbaijanis by the Armenian Dashnaks and Bolsheviks.
Imanov says that in March and April of 1918 the Armenian Dashnaks and Bolsheviks committed genocide against thousands of peaceful Azerbaijanis, massacring people in Baku, Shamakhi, Guba, Lankaran, Salyan, Zangazur, Nakhivan and other Azerbaijani lands.
He calls the genocide a crime against humanity.
Imanov also recalls the 1905-1906 mass killings of Azerbaijanis by Armenian nationalists who set to fire hundreds of villages.
