International education workshop begins at Khazar University

 

Baku, March 27 (AzerTAc). A workshop titled “Education leadership and policy in Azerbaijan and the UK: Building capacity for school improvement” has opened at Azerbaijan`s Khazar University.
The event was addressed by Founder of Khazar University and Chairman of Board of Directors and Trustees, Professor Hamlet Isakhanli, Professor of the University of Nottingham Howard Stevenson, Professor of the University of Nottingham Chris Day, and Dean of the School of Education at Khazar University Elza Samadova.
The workshop brought together administrators, instructors and researchers from Khazar University, the University of Nottingham, University of Warwick, University of Middlesex, University of Manchester, University of Leicester, University of Lincoln, University of Chichester, Brunel University, and London Institute of Education (UK), as well as Azerbaijani representatives of higher education institutes, government bodies, and mass media.
The workshop began on March 25 with speeches by Professor Hamlet Isakhanli , Ms Elizabeth White, Country Director of British Council Azerbaijan; His Excellency Irfan Siddiq, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan; and Prof. Howard Stevenson, education consultant from the University of Nottingham. It will continue its work for four days, including presentations, discussions, and experience sharing about UK and Azerbaijani education. In the evenings, dinners and Baku sightseeing tours have been organized for the British guests participating in the workshop. The workshop is scheduled to conclude on March 28.
The co-organizers of the event are Khazar University and the University of Nottingham (UK).
