Azerbaijan Institute of Botany, UNICRI sign Memorandum of Understanding
Baku, February 18 (AzerTAc). Institute of Botany under Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a project developed by the Fundamental Problems of Biological Productivity Department at the Institute of Botany.
“Molecular diagnosis of different diseases of agricultural plant seeds and products and genetically modified plants imported into Azerbaijan” project won a grant under UNICRI`s “Strengthening Biosafety and Biosecurity Capabilities in South Caucasus and Central Asian Countries” program.
The manager of the project is director of the Fundamental Problems of Biological Productivity Department, academician Jalal Aliyev.
Under the Memorandum, German and French scientists will conduct workshops in Azerbaijan, and experts of the Institute of Botany will be on internship at the French National Institute of Agronomic Research, and International Seed Testing Association in Switzerland.
