Meeting with Azerbaijani delegation held in Alsace, France

A meeting with an Azerbaijani delegation has been held at the Regional Council in Alsace, France. The meeting was attended by religious leaders of Azerbaijan and the Rhineland area of France, the leaders of the Alsace Regional Council, as well as the Azerbaijani delegation led by Mubariz Gurbanly, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations.
The meeting, chaired by the Regional Council consultant Catherine Zuber, focused on religious and ethnic tolerance in Azerbaijan and France.
The participants of the meeting emphasized that the achievements and experience of Azerbaijan in this area are exemplary, and other countries must take advantage of this practice.
Addressing the meeting, Mubariz Gurbanly said that positive attitude to other nationalities and religions in Azerbaijan is an old heritage of Azerbaijani people. He said President Ilham Aliyev has always been committed to supporting and preserving cultural values and traditions in Azerbaijan. He hailed the important contribution of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the promotion of Azerbaijan`s national and spiritual values in the world.
Alsace is located on France's eastern border and on the west bank of the upper Rhine adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. The political, economic and cultural capital as well as largest city of Alsace is Strasbourg. The city is the seat of several international organizations and bodies.
