Azerbaijan Studies Center opens at Russia`s University

Baku, February 11 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijan Studies Center established by the Baku Slavic University (BSU) has been solemnly inaugurated at the Yeltsin Ural Federal University (UrFU), one of the most reputable higher educational institutions in the Russian Federation.
The center started its operations in line with the cooperation agreement between the BSU and UrFU signed in 2012.
The Center is located at the UrFU`s Social and Political Sciences Institute. The event was attended by UrFU`s vice-chancellor for international relations, director of the institute Khomyakov, vice-chancellors of the BSU Hajiyev, Samadov, consuls of the Azerbaijan`s Consulate in Yekaterinburg Ahmadov and Isgandarov, Chairman of the All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress`s Ural branch Shikhlinski and others.
Speaking to the ceremony, Hajiyev underlined that the BSU provided the Center with the equipment and textbooks, scientific literature, books and brochures on the history and culture of Azerbaijan. The Center will facilitate teacher and student exchange, joint researches and implementation of joint projects.
Khomyakov noted that the Center will contribute to not only cooperation between the two universities but also to the friendly relations between the two nations.
Consul of the Azerbaijan`s Consulate in Yekaterinburg Isgandarov and Head of the Ural Branch of the All-Russia Azerbaijani Congress Shikhlinski visited the Center to wish every success in its researches.
