Azerbaijan, Vietnam discuss educational cooperation
Baku, January 18 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Anar Imanov has met Vietnamese Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan to explore ways of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.
They said the two countries had good cooperation during the Soviet Union, with thousands of Vietnamese citizens receiving education in Azerbaijanç particularly at Azerbaijan Oil Academy and Baku State University, and currently these graduates work in various positions in the private and public sector in Vietnam.
They stressed the fact that the tradition continues today, with 33 Vietnamese students receiving education in Azerbaijan through the Petrovietnam Company.
They also discussed prospects for establishing direct contacts between the two countries` universities, organizing joint educational exhibitions, as well as conducting exchange programs for specialists, teachers and students.
They agreed to continue cooperation between the Azerbaijani Embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.
