Azerbaijan, Israel discuss expansion of scientific cooperation

President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), academician Akif Alizade has met Israeli Ambassador to the country Rafael Harpaz to discuss the expansion of scientific cooperation.
Alizade hailed long-term cooperation and relations between the two countries, which he described as “friendly”.
The academician said he would soon visit Israel, adding he was keen on studying experience of the country in integration of science and education. Mr. Alizade praised Israel`s scientific achievements, adding the country has great experience in development of scientific, educational and innovative technologies. He said the ANAS was interested in joint cooperation with Israeli scientific and educational institutions in the fields of physics, geophysics, medicine and agrarian.
Rafael Harpaz said more than 70 thousand of Azerbaijanis were living in Israel. The diplomat stressed the importance of signing an agreement on cooperation between the ANAS and the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
