Baku, April 25 (AzerTAc). Latvian Minister of Agriculture Laimdota Straujuma and Azerbaijan`s Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov have today inked an agreement on cooperation.
Prior to the signing ceremony, the ministers discussed prospects for agricultural cooperation between the two countries.
Ismat Abbasov spoke about Azerbaijan`s socio-economic situation and agricultural reforms.
Stressing Azerbaijan has good potential for development of the agrarian sphere, Abbasov noted that according to the results of 2012, the production in agrarian sphere had increased by 6.2%.
Laimdota Straujuma said that Latvia was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agrarian sphere. Hailing Azerbaijan`s economic development, the Latvian Minister expressed her confidence that the document would foster bilateral trade.
