Baku International Jazz Festival-2014 kicks off

Baku International Jazz Festival-2014 has got underway at the International Mugham Center.
The festival is organized by the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Azerbaijani Culture Foundation.
The concerts of the festival will be held at the Heydar Aliyev Palace, Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic, International Mugham Center, Baku Jazz Center and Rashid Behbudov State Song Theatre.
The festival will feature performance by acclaimed jazz bands and musicians including Terri Lyne Carrington Quartet, Terence Blanchard Quintet, Anat Cohen Quartet, Michel Camilo trio, Stanley Clarke, Craig Taborn Trio, and Trilok Gurtu band. Azerbaijani musicians Salman Gambarov, Jamil Amirov, Mirjavad Jafarov, Elchin Shirinov, Zaur Mirzayev will hold solo concerts.
Craig Taborn (piano), Thomas Morgan (bass) and Gerald Cleaver (drums) performed on the first day of the festival.

Craig Marvin Taborn is an American pianist, keyboardist and composer. Also playing organ and Moog synthesizer, Taborn has worked mostly in jazz, although he also does dark ambient and techno music.
