Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office meets Georgian Prime Minister

Baku, January 3 (AzerTAc). A delegation led by Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has left for Tbilisi to attend events to be held on the 35th anniversary of the enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and his 80th birthday. 
The delegation includes members of Azerbaijani parliament Javanshir Pashazade and Huseynbala Miralamov, deputy chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Salman Musayev, bishop of Baku and Azerbaijan eparchy of Russian Orthodox Church Alexander Ishein and others.
The Azerbaijani delegation was welcomed at the Tbilisi airport by Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and others.
The same day Allahshukur Pashazade met Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili and speaker of parliament David Usupashvili.
Pashazade conveyed President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings to Ivanishvili. He spoke of the role of Ilia II in strengthening friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples.
Ivanishvili, in turn, spoke of his recent visit Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister said he had fruitful talks with President Ilham Aliyev during the visit. Ivanishvili said President Ilham Aliyev had more experience and the Azerbaijani leader gave him very useful advices. “We decided to maintain the current level of cooperation and mutual understanding between Azerbaijan and Georgia.”
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II thanked Pashazade for the visit. He said friendly and fraternal relations between the two religious leaders also contribute to development of our peoples` relationship.
Ilia II said “we have not lost our territories, but we have temporarily lost the control over our territories. According to him, as Abkhazia and South Ossetia are Georgian lands, Nagorno-Karabakh has always been and will be Azerbaijani territory.
During the meeting David Usupashvili, members of Azerbaijani parliament Javanshir Pashazade and Huseynbala Miralamov discussed relations between the two countries` legislative bodies.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Georgia Azer Huseynov was present in the meeting.
