Chief of Caucasian Muslims` Board visiting Turkey

Baku, July 20 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijan`s delegation led by head of the Caucasian Muslims` Board Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade is on a visit to Ankara by the invitation of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
Azerbaijani delegation includes deputies of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) and leadership of the Caucasian Muslims` Board.
Pashazade held a meeting with chairman of Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs Mehmet Gormez on Tuesday.
Pashazade extended Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings and congratulation to Gormez on his election. He also invited Gormez to pay a visit to Azerbaijan.
“Friendly and fraternal relations existing between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey - the countries national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev described as “one nation and two states” - offer high level cooperation in all spheres,” Pashazade underlined.
Pashazade voiced his condolences to the families of 13 Turkish martyrs who were killed by terrorists. He thanked for Turkey`s support stressing the religious leaders of the two fraternal countries must increase their efforts against terrorism and to solve Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
In his turn, Gormez said that his country is interested in boosting relations with Muslim brothers in Azerbaijan, as well as in Russia and Caucasus.
“Religious figures of Azerbaijan and Turkey can be more active in solution of the region`s problems”, Gormez said.
Azerbaijan ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov also participated in the meeting.
Pashazade will also hold meetings with Turkish deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag and Istanbul governor Mustafa Cagrici during his visit.
Head of the Caucasian Muslims` Board is expected to be received by Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
