AZERBAIJAN EMBASSY IN BUCHAREST MARKS DAY OF AZERBAIJANIS` GENOCIDE
Bucharest, 1 April (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Romania has organized a commemorative event on the occasion of the 31 March – the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. The ceremony started with the observance of a minute of silence.
The event brought together members of Romania-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, Azerbaijan-Romania Culture and Youth Association, members of the board of Romania-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, employees of Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s and SOCAR`s representations, students studying in the country, members of Turkish and Tatar communities in Bucharest and journalists.
Ambassador Eldar Hasanov told of the history of the genocide, saying “Armenians have been committing bloody acts against the Azerbaijanis thought history”.
The Ambassador stressed nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to ensuring that the genocide be given a political and legal assessment.
The ceremony featured a photo exhibition depicting horrors of the genocide.
The Embassy sent informative brochures concerning the genocide to the Romanian Parliament, the country`s government bodies and Non-Governmental Organizations.
