Madrid, March 31 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Spain has organized a commemorative event on the occasion of the 31 March–the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis. The ceremony started with the observance of a minute of silence.
The event brought together representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas and members of the general public.
Ambassador Mammad Aliyev spoke of the history of the genocide, saying “it will forever remain in memories of the Azerbaijani people”.
The Ambassador stressed nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev`s contribution to ensuring that the genocide be given a political and legal assessment.
