EXHIBITION DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF AZERBAIJANIS` GENOCIDE (31 MARCH) OPENED IN BAKU

Baku, 30 March (AzerTAc). An exhibition dedicated to March 31 - Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis was opened Monday at the Exhibition hall of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The exhibition featured graphic works by Vagif Ujatay (Huseynov) reflecting the atrocities committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis.
Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev briefed the participants on the policy of genocide being pursued by Armenian nationalists against the Azerbaijani people and its terrible results.
According to the Minister, the genocide of Azerbaijanis was committed throughout a whole century in numerous methods, mass slaughter and military operations.
Garayev noted genocide pursued against Azerbaijanis also has long history and the truth about it has been brought to the public notice thanks to resoluteness of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. Only after his Decree from March 26, 1998, the genocide was given political-legal assessment. Since then, March 31 is marked at the state level as Day of Azerbaijanis` Genocide, carried out actions of respect of the memory of victims of genocide.
Minister Garayev highly appreciated works by Vagif Ujatay dealing with tragic events committed by Armenian chauvinists and stressed the necessity of exhibiting them abroad.
Expressing gratitude to the participants Vagif Ujatay said the exhibition includes more than 30 graphic works and that they reflect savageries committed by Armenians.
The exhibition will last until April 4.
