Baku, October 16, AZERTAC

As part of his working visit to Romania, Vugar Oruj, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Society of Appraisers (ASA), visited the Romanian Senate.
Oruj was given a tour of the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest, one of the country’s most impressive architectural landmarks and historic buildings. He subsequently met with two members of the Romanian Senate.
The Chairman met with Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, Substitute Senator of National Liberal Party and Senator Varga Glad-Aurel, Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Environment.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the activities of the ASA, the development of Azerbaijan’s valuation sector, and opportunities to apply international best practices in this field.
Vugar Oruj briefed the senators on progress in organizing valuation activities in Azerbaijan, training professional appraisers, establishing national valuation standards, and cooperating with international organizations. He emphasized that valuation plays an important role not only in the real estate market but also in investment, financial, and economic decision-making.
The meeting also addressed environmental issues within the remit of Senator Glad Varga. The participants exchanged views on the green economy, sustainable development, the impact of environmental factors on land and real estate values, and the integration of environmental risks into the valuation process. They emphasized the importance of studying international experience and applying modern valuation methods in this area.
During the discussions, the participants also focused on European valuation standards, expanding ties between professional organizations, and opportunities to share Romania’s expertise with Azerbaijani specialists.
The senators praised the memorandum of cooperation signed between the ASA and the National Association of Authorized Appraisers of Romania (ANEVAR).
