Azerbaijan Tourism Board supports filming of Japan’s hit series VIVANT across the country
Baku, October 16, AZERTAC
Azerbaijan’s landscapes, heritage and distinctive regional character will reach millions of viewers through the second season of Japan’s hit series VIVANT, which recently completed filming across the country with support from the Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB). ATB also supported the post-production process as part of its ongoing collaboration with Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. (TBS), helping bring Azerbaijan’s diverse destinations to the screen and creating a new opportunity to introduce the country to Japanese and international audiences through one of Japan’s most widely followed television series.
The collaboration will include a dedicated promotional campaign designed to further immerse VIVANT viewers in the Azerbaijan experience. Planned activities across TBS and the series’ promotional channels include social media posts, media and newspaper coverage, a dedicated Azerbaijan section on the VIVANT website, a special guidebook, television programmes featuring the cast, and behind-the-scenes videos. The second season will be broadcast on TBS and made available on U-NEXT and TVer in Japan before reaching international audiences on Netflix.
The first season of VIVANT captivated more than 60 million viewers in Japan, establishing the series as one of the country’s most popular television productions. With Azerbaijan featuring prominently in the second season, the country’s landscapes and heritage will be showcased to an established and highly engaged audience, offering viewers a fresh perspective on destinations across the country.
Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. (TBS) is one of Japan’s leading television broadcasters, known for its wide-ranging entertainment, news and documentary programming. The collaboration also included filming for TBS’s World Heritage programme earlier this year, further raising Azerbaijan’s profile among Japanese audiences through one of the broadcaster’s established international programmes.
