A side event titled “German-Azerbaijani Economic Partnership: Business Dialogue and Cooperation” was held on the sidelines of the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev.
The event focused on expanding Azerbaijan-Germany economic partnership, developing trade and investment ties, joint projects, and opportunities for business cooperation.
In his remarks, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli highlighted President Ilham Aliyev’s July 2026 visit to Germany, noting that it reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to closer cooperation. He noted that joint declarations on the Strategic Agenda and Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council provide a framework for expanding trade, investment, and energy cooperation.
The event also highlighted opportunities in industry, technology transfer, energy, transport and logistics, and regional market access.
Other speakers included Michael Harms, Managing Director of German Eastern Business Association; Hannes Ametsreiter, Chairman of the Board of 1Global; Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of AZPROMO; and Azer Vahabzade, CEO of Milla Dairy.
The speakers discussed the current state and prospects of Azerbaijan-Germany economic ties, mutual investment, industrial cooperation, and opportunities in technology and innovation. They also explored ways to strengthen private-sector ties, establish new business partnerships, and implement joint projects.
