37th high-level meeting of Nizami Ganjavi International Center wraps up in New York

The 37th high-level meeting of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC), titled “Rebuilding Trust, Cooperation and Global Stability for a Shared Future,” concluded on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
The event’s second day focused on energy security, climate change, artificial intelligence, multilateralism, and global health.
The meeting featured a discussion titled “Energy Security and Resilience in the New Era: Ukraine’s Experience for Collective Preparedness.”
The keynote speakers included Charles Michel, former President of the European Council, and Denys Shmyhal, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
The event proceeded with another panel session titled “Energy, Security and Climate: Managing the Triple Transition,” focusing on energy security, regional connectivity, and the green transition.
Moderated by Robert Cekuta, former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, the panel included Afgan Isayev, Vice-President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), as one of the speakers.
The event also featured remarks by Gordon Brown, former UK Prime Minister, who emphasized the importance of international collaboration amid ongoing conflicts, as well as climate and humanitarian crises.
The event also featured panel discussions titled “AI, Digital Sovereignty and Future of Global Governance,” “From Baku to Belem to Türkiye: Keeping Climate Cooperation Alive in an Era of Global Fragmentation,” and others.
