Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture, met with Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia.
The sides exchanged views on ensuring the sustainable development of the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan, further strengthening food security, implementing new support mechanisms for agricultural producers, and addressing issues arising from the “State Program for the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Production and Processing Sectors in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030.”
They also discussed the importance of projects implemented in cooperation with the FAO, as well as prospects for cooperation.
The officials highlighted the significance of ongoing cooperation within the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Programme, emphasizing that the projects would make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s agricultural sector.
