Baku, September 17, AZERTAC Revenue in Azerbaijan’s transport and warehousing sector reached 10.93 billion manats during the first eight months of the year, representing an 8.7 percent increase in real terms compared to the same period last year, according to figures released by the State Statistics Committee.Oil cargo accounted for 40.5 percent of total goods moved by maritime transport between January and August. Over the same period, Azerbaijani seaports handled 8.63 million tons of cargo loading and unloading operations. As of August 1, 2026, cargo stock remaining at the ports stood at 150,000 tons.In passenger transportation, road transport continued to carry the vast majority of commuter traffic, with bus services accounting for 95.7 percent of passengers and taxi services comprising the remaining 4.3 percent.
