Indonesia, US conduct bomb disposal training in Guam

Baku, July 28, AZERTAC

Seven Indonesian Air Force personnel completed a four-day bomb disposal training program with US Pacific Air Forces at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, Antara reported citing the Air Force Tuesday. The joint tactical training, held from July 20 to July 24, aimed to strengthen the team’s ability to counter sophisticated explosive threats and terrorism challenges, Air Force spokesman Air Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana said.
Suadnyana said in Jakarta that the training provided comprehensive instruction and practical experience in handling high-risk situations.
“Personnel received training on unexploded ordnance (UXO), improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and downed unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to strengthen their capabilities,” he said.
The program covered neutralizing unexploded military munitions, defusing improvised explosive devices and countering explosive-laden unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones.
Suadnyana said all training activities followed strict safety procedures, allowing the program to proceed smoothly and safely.
He said the exercise was expected to strengthen the technical readiness and operational expertise of Indonesian Air Force bomb disposal specialists.
