‘Cybersecurity is a strategic mission serving to protect foundations of modern society’
Baku, July 22, AZERTAC
"Cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical profession; it is a strategic mission serving to protect the foundations of modern society," said Moti Yeger, General Director for Israel’s Technion Continuing Education School, during the 7th graduation ceremony of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (ACC).
Highlighting the history of the Technion Continuing Education School, spanning over a century, Yeger noted that the school believes that technology will improve people's lives, while also contributing to fostering societies, and building a safer future.
According to Moti Yeger, this responsibility has now grown even further. He noted that critical infrastructure, strategic assets, and numerous services that people use daily depend on reliable digital systems. Pointing out that cyber threats are escalating along with rapid technological advancement, the Israeli official described cybersecurity as one of the key areas ensuring societal resilience today.
He also mentioned that earlier this year, Technion ranked first in Europe in artificial intelligence and was listed among the world's leading higher education institutions in computer science according to the international CS Rankings index.
