


Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency joins International Conference in Athens

On July 14–15, the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) participated in the High-Level International Conference on Connecting Energy Futures: Interconnectors and Renewable Energy Integration under the Connectivity Agenda in Athens, Greece. The event was held as part of the EU-funded EU4Energy Phase III project.
The conference was attended by representatives of relevant government agencies, regulatory authorities, European Union institutions, and international organizations from Eastern Partnership countries.
The event aimed to discuss the European Union's experiences and approaches in strengthening energy security, developing cross-border electricity interconnectors, integrating renewable energy sources into energy systems, expanding regional cooperation, and promoting integration with the energy market.
Participants exchanged views on current issues regarding European Union energy policy, market integration, network regulations, and energy infrastructure planning.
AERA representative Elmar Gulaliyev addressed a panel session on the prospects and future directions of the Eastern Partnership. He provided insight into reforms in Azerbaijan regarding the liberalization of the electricity market, regional energy cooperation, and the prospects for integration with the European energy market.
