Baku, April 15, AZERTAC
In the first half of the year (January–June), total oil transport through Azerbaijan’s trunk pipelines reached 12,702,300 tons, representing an 8.8% decline year-on-year.
According to figures released by the State Statistics Committee, the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) main export oil pipeline handled the vast majority of volume, accounting for 76.9% of all transit.
Domestically extracted crude constituted 82.3% (10,453,900 tons) of the total volume shipped through the BTC route. Transit volumes supplied from regional partners—namely Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan—comprised the remaining 17.7% (2,248,400 tons).
