Bulgaria's University of National and World Economy hosts nearly 400 students from countries outside the EU

Baku, July 20, AZERTAC

During the academic year 2025/2026, 388 students from countries outside the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA) were studying at the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia, the university told BTA.
The UNWE specified that it does not maintain separate statistics for students from EU member states, as they study according to the procedure applicable to Bulgarian citizens. Therefore, information on their number cannot be provided. However, students from five continents study at UNWE, including from countries such as Egypt, Israel, India, China and the USA.
The interest of international students is distributed among various directions and specialties in the field of economics, business, international relations, finance and information technologies. In recent years, there has been a steady trend towards an increase in both the number of foreign students studying and the number of candidates showing interest in studying at the UNWE.
Among the motives for foreign students to choose the UNWE, the university noted the quality of the higher education offered, the variety of specialties, the opportunities for professional realization after graduation, the competitive amount of tuition fees, as well as the positive recommendations from current and former graduates of the university.
