


Azerbaijan hosts UPU’S Quality of Service Fund Board Meeting

Held as part of the cooperation between Azerpost LLC, a subsidiary of AZCON Holding, and the UPU International Bureau, the meeting reviewed the activities of the QSF and future initiatives.
In his opening remarks, Manaf Babayev, Acting CEO of Azerpost LLC, noted that the institution he heads attaches great importance to actively contributing to enhancing international cooperation and advancing the UPU’s initiatives.
Subsequently, the QSF Board reviewed project proposals, final and assessment reports, and other QSF-related matters.
The meeting also included the final assessment of five heavy-duty vehicles acquired under the “QSF AZE2313 Baku” project to improve postal transportation.
The UPU’s Quality of Service Fund (QSF) is a funding platform for developing countries to implement projects that aim to improve the quality of service of the global postal network while focusing on strengthening the domestic postal network and infrastructure of beneficiary countries. The year 2021 marked the 20th anniversary of the creation of the QSF. The QSF is the UPU’s biggest funding mechanism for projects that have national, regional, and global impacts, having funded approximately 902 projects to date.
A Board of Trustees (QSF Board) elected by the Postal Operations Council (POC) governs the Fund and oversees the implementation of projects. The QSF Board fulfills its governance obligations in accordance with the QSF Rules and Procedures.
